Pool Maintenance and Keeping Your Pool Clean

Pool maintenance tips to keep your pool cleanKeeping your pool clean does not have to be a long and painful task. Pools are not that hard to keep clean and take care of if you continue to keep up with it. These tips below will help you keep your pool sparkling clean and ready for you to jump in.

Clean Baskets and Skim

It is important to clean the basket in your pool. This is where all of the excess debris is held. If you are not keeping it clean, it will overfill and the debris will come back out making a mess of your pool and pool floor.

Skimming the top of the water with a net will help remove any debris lying on the top. This will also get rid of pollen, leaves, and dirt that settle on the top of the water.

Maintain Water Level

You always want to maintain the water level in your pool. A pool that is overfilled will flood your porch or way draw in more dirt as the water leads back into the pool.

A pool that does not have enough water can cause damage to the pump. If left without enough water for too long, the pump will break.

pH Levels

It is important to maintain the pH levels in your pool. A good pH level means it is safe to swim in the pool. If the pH is too high, it could irritate your eyes or skin. A pH level between 7.2 and 7.8 is ideal and will also help keep the water sanitized.

Vacuum

Vacuuming the pool and pool walls will help ensure that your pool water stays clear and that you do not have to constantly add chemicals to it. You can purchase automatic cleaners which will do the work for you, all you have to do is place them in the pool.

Summer is Here

Once pool season rolls around, your pool will be clear, beautiful, and inviting. You can invite everyone over to go for a swim and hang out around your clean pool.
